The Mysterious Beyond is the fourth episode of the machinima Sandguardians.

Plot[]
Returning from the battle, Dax and Ichabod thank Legend for his support. Legend asks about how their situation began, in which Dax answers. Dax explains about his grandpa's candy shop, the Reds insulting them, and the Blues firing back, eventually leading the situation to the battlefield. Throughout the explanation, Dax and Icky argue, until Legend informs them about fixing the tank. Jason enters and says that he was unable to fix the tank due to being "screwed up." Legend then suggests calling an engineer, in which, fortunately, Jason already has.
After more explaining about the battle, Dax tells Legend (and the rest of his team) about the hovering Banshee that was shot down, which shocks everyone. Legend decides to out and investigate, feeling unsure if the Covenant alien is actually dead. Reluctant, Ichabod tries to persuade the others not to go, feeling it would obviously be dangerous due to the fact that the Covenant nearly exterminated the humans. Legend, on the other hand, tells him about Master Chief & the bravery he presented throughout the Great War, fighting off the Covenant and the Flood. He says that they should present the same courage and bravery. Eventually, Legend, Dax, Jason, and Ichabod all venture out beyond the hill to find the crashed Banshee.

- The episode's title is a reference to the term "The Mysterious Beyond" used in The Land Before Time series.
- Legend is seen with a CQB chest rather than the EVA chest he wears throughout the rest of the series.
- The chant the Blue Team yell at the end of the episode is a reference to a scene from the 1987 film Full Metal Jacket, where Sgt. Hartman & the troops yell a similar chant during the boot camp.
