Trial and Error is the twelfth episode of the third season of Sandguardians and the forty-fourth overall.

Plot[]

Dax struggles to shoot down four caution cones, missing each one using both his Assault Rifle and Magnum. Jason then shoots one of the cones, surprising Dax. Jason approaches Dax and asks how his talk with Legend went. Dax only states that Legend is leaving and tries to mask his sadness. Jason attempts to console Dax but the latter sadly questions his actions lately. Jason tells him that the two just need to stick together until Miller and Claire, as well as Mickey and Bartholomew, join them. Mickey reminds the four skirmish troops that they're no longer ONC soldiers but Guardians and should begin acting like it.

As a result, the four continue their training, while Ichabod watches nearby. When Gates runs past him, Icky calls out to him and asks if he's still planning to escape on the Pelican. Gates replies that he is and asks if Ichabod is still thinking about escaping. Ichabod decides to stay with his teammates and tries to persuade Gates to do the same, but the latter is unsure. Ichabod then continues running his laps while Gates looks back to see the others train. He then continues his laps as well.

Meanwhile, Bernard sits inside a dark room until Seal confronts him with a shotgun and asks for his last words. Bernard answers jokingly and then mentions McGrath, grabbing Seal's attention. Bernard vaguely explains what the Chancellors did to McGrath after he was captured and tells Seal to go back to his lab in order to find answers.

All the while, Winters and Sydney go through numerous augmentation tests with the Life Saver pod; each failure resulting in the death of an ONC soldier. Suddenly, one ONC soldier survives the augmentation, with his muscular structure enhanced. Winters becomes ecstatic by the success, but Sydney express regret.

Back at DotCom, Seal exits the dark room, barricades the entrance, and runs off. Suddenly, Bernard pushes his way past the barricades blocking the other entrance to the room, after previously seeing Seal punch it, and flees.
